The Day of Surgery
To help us meet all your needs, please follow these guidelines:
- Please bathe or shower prior to coming in for surgery. Remove all of your makeup, jewelry, and hairpieces.
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing such as sweat suits, easy button shirts, or blouses that are large in case you have a large bandage aftersurgery. Also be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
- Leave all valuables at home.
- Remember to bring your valid picture ID & insurance card with you
- Bring a list of your medication(s), both prescription and non-prescription. Please include the dosage(s).
- Be prepared to sign form(s) giving your consent for the operation. If the patient is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must accompany the child and sign the consent form(s).
- Arrange in advance for a responsible adult to drive you home and to remain with you for the first 24 hours after surgery. You cannot drive yourself and should not be left alone.
- Please be sure you registered on-line or bring this packet and all paperwork included with you on the day of surgery.
- Please arrive promptly for your scheduled procedure. Check the appointment card on the right- hand pocket for the time of your surgery.
- A nurse will give you a gown, slippers, hat and a personal belongings bag to store your clothing in before surgery.
- We will also check your temperature, blood pressure and pulse, and ask you to empty your bladder.
